The Battles at Bindeldrar by Mester Dominae Lurius I

Mester Dominae Lurius I opening up the 41st of Zathre 1143ES festival and reenactment of the Battle at Bindeldrar in the Lanifoel Arena.

The Battle for Bindeldrar was some of the last battles of Sharisnai, the year that changed everything in the war between elves and orcs. Bindeldrar as you probably know was one of the greatest fortresses of the fearless now extinct steel elves. and I should know since I was there just one of the 4000 elves, dwarves, gnomes and even a few silver dragons that had banded together at Bindeldrar to stop or at least hold back the more than three million of orcs and their allies of ogres, trolls and less than a handful of evil dragons long enough for reinforcements to arrive at Bindeldrar.

I still recall this day as it happened 1143 years ago, on the 41st of Zathre in the year we now refer to as Sharisnai, Oh while talking about Sharisnai as you all know it was so named after the Elemental god of fire Shar that helped us, the elves and thus forever ensured his own destiny as a greater god forever intertwined with that of the elves. Now back to Bindeldrar.

We stood there with all our bows and arrows ready to strike down the orcs and their other evil allies as they approached in the early dawn of 41th Zathre of Sharisnai, our mages whirling up their strongest incantations and the priests endorsed with quest spells beyond todays imagination, it was already insured to be a battle that sages and bards would ponder and sing about for millenniums. Our gods must have been especially graceful this day as not a single elf fell on this day, as it is known and still revered to this day as the first day of Bindeldrar. The stupid orcs had underestimated the elven spellfinchers and battlemages which in the early hours turned every one of the orcish armada's spell user against themselves causing 811688 of the orcs to turn against their fellow battlemates first slaying 649351 and then another 324675 before the end of the day, the remaining 1623377, as estimated by our psnomish battle-counter Tellielis Nummerbull, had no other option than to pull back and return to fight the next day.

42nd of Zathre, 0th ES Battle at Bindeldrar day two
The orcs now confident that their 1623377 troops with an new reinforcement of another 2922078 including 100 illithid hirelings immune to spellfinchers could turn the tide and level the steel elves fortress of Bindeldrar, like the day before the onslaught started at dawn, within minutes the illithids had slain all of the 70 steel elven spellfinchers from afar, what the orcs had not anticipated was that the elves now had been joined by a armada of their own, an armada of 2110390 undead orcs, some from the battle the day before and others guided in from other battles that had been fought earlier in the year. This surprise again gave our steel elven heroes an edge as their battlemages slay all of the illithids before they managed to do more damage, before the day Tellielis Nummerbull could inform that when the undead orcs rouse up from underneath the unsuspected stupid orcs they took with them 974026 and then another 324675 while about scattered orcs of 3246754 survived by fleeing the battlefield and their undead earlier battle-mates.

Day three of The Battles at Bindeldrar, was filled with spell fatigue among both divine and arcane spell users as they were starting to run out of some of their most potent spell components the steel elves and their gold elf commander knew they only had a small advantage over the battle-fatigued orcs, as they had received word that 55323 fearless centaurs had arrived and was about to flank the already tired orcs, that knew they had to meet more undead comrades in battle again as it grew closer to dawn on the 43rd of Zathre 0ES.

The centauries manage to take out their enemies 3-1 before their effort is snuffed out by the so much more massive forces of orcs, which now have gained in as a first wave of orcs crosses the perimiter of the outer moath of Bindeldrar 6.35 or 35 minutes after dawn. only to be forced back by a torrent of arrows as our best steel elven long bow archers pummel them with a sky turned dark from the rain of arrows dipped with the potent orc slaying sap of the Eeildalei bush, taking out 4000 orcs every minutes according to Tellielis Nummerbull

Still this does not prevent the orcs from crushing trough the first wall of Bindeldrar, followed by a second wave of orcs as they enters to the 2nd wall of Bindeldrar, by the time the third wave of orcs and fourth wave of orcs push in they are met by the increasingly tough task of climbing over all of the first and 2nd wave of orcs that now litter the ground ahead to the 3rd wall of Bindeldrar, this slowing their progress enough that the elves can shoot them out faster than they enter and all pushing them back towards the first wall where they meet the 5th wave of orcs, that loses is will to fight and does a quick retreat, by the end of this day the orcish armada lost 480190 lives to the elven steel elf archers before they ran out of arrows, 156919 more trough the fierce centaurs in melee and another 1883981 from the undead orcs still controlled by the steel elven clerics and battlemages.

Day four of The Battles at Bindeldrar, This was the day when all turned, as the numbers of undead orcs controlled to protect the fortress of Bindeldrar kept increasing now counting 4869407 mixed undeads of orcs, trolls, illithids and another 46904 undead centaurs according Tellielis Nummerbull. With all of the orcs slain the elves start to prepare their celebrated victory, only to realize that they had lost the control of the undeads, that now relentlessly with very little effort broke trough the last standing walls of Bindeldrar slaying all of the remaining steel elves only a few survived when the silver dragons flee with them to safety, among the ones that was saved was Tellielis Nummerbull, myself and the gold elven commander Tyiondor Ea, the undead horde continued on and caused much of the loss of the steel elves and centaurs that now became pushed into extinction by the orcs on one side and the now self growing forces of undeads.

This bring us back to how Shar, in the end saved the remaining elves as they fled their old lands up to the mountains of Rielsys, with the help of his fire elementals and firewalkers and firewarden priests, scorched the undeads and the orcs of the whole continent of Thalmariea.
